Airzone operating modes
Airzone operating modes
The operating mode indicates the mode in which the system is working. The available modes are as follows:

Stop: The air conditioning system will shut down regardless of the status of the rest of the zones. In addition, all terminal elements (grilles, dampers, etc.) will be closed.

Fan: In this operating mode, the system only operates with the air conditioning unit in fan mode when any of the zones associated to the system is generating demand (set-point temp. < room temp.).

Cooling: In this operating mode, the system only operates with the air conditioning unit in cooling mode when any of the zones associated to the system is generating demand (set-point temp. < room temp.).

Heating: In this operating mode, the system only operates with the air conditioning unit in heating mode when any of the zones associated to the system is generating demand (set-point temp. > room temp.).

Dry: In this operating mode, the system only operates with the air conditioning unit in dry mode when any of the zones associated to the system is generating demand (set-point temp. < room temp.).
The wired thermostat displays Error 1 - Communications failure between thermostat and main control board
The wired thermostat displays Error 1 - Communications failure between thermostat and main control board
Check whether the error appears on all thermostats. If so, check that the systemÕs main control board is operating properly. To do so, check the behavior of all its self-diagnostic LEDs and ensure they are as set out in the technical fact sheet ( Easyzone main controller - Flexa 3.0 - Product Data Sheet ).

If the behavior of the LEDs is appropriate, check that the polarity of the connectors of the main control board and thermostat is correct. The wiring can be consulted in the Assembly and Connection section of the installation manual ( Easyzone main controller - Flexa 3.0 - Installation manual ).

If the wiring is correct and the problem persists, check the voltage between the poles (A /-) and (B /-). The voltage should be between 0.5 Vdc and 2 Vdc and the two measurements should be similar (be balanced); in other words, if the voltage of A/- is 0.9 Vdc, the voltage of B/- may vary between 0.8 Vdc and 1.0 Vdc. If the voltages are not within these ranges, there is a problem in the wiring or one of the parts is defective. Get in touch with the Technical Department ( Open a new ticket ).

If the voltages are correct, restart the zone and reassociate it to the system ( How can I reset a zone equipped with a Blueface thermostat when it displays Error 1? ).

If the problem is not solved, restart the entire system and reassociate it ( How do I reset the entire system? ).

Note: Take into account that this error may appear on the thermostats if the system is restarted. This message should disappear in approximately 30 seconds once the restart has been completed.

The thermostat displays a screen showing "A" for Airzone frequently and restarts
The thermostat displays a screen showing "A" for Airzone frequently and restarts
If your Blueface thermostat frequently displays an ""A"" for Airzone on the screen, it means that it is being reset. Proceed as follows:

Check that the thermostat's power feed is correct. To do so, measure the voltage between the positive and negative poles in the base of the thermostat (removing the thermostat), and also at the system's main control board connection terminal (after connecting the thermostat). In both cases, the voltage should be approximately 12 Vdc. Voltages of less than 11 Vdc indicate there is some kind of problem.

If the voltage is not correct, check the polarity of all the connectors on both the thermostats and the main control board. Check that there are no loose wires making a false contact with another wire.

If all the wiring is correct, replace the thermostat with another one in the installation and check what happens with the thermostat that was resetting itself in its new location and what happens with the thermostat that operated properly in its new location:
- If the thermostat suspected of suffering a failure continues to reset itself and the thermostat that initially operated well continues operating well, the problem resides in the thermostat. Get in touch with Airzone to replace the part.
- If the problem is now transferred to the other thermostat, the problem resides in the connection base or the wire. Replace that zone's wiring and reconnect the thermostat.
Basic mode/Advanced mode
Basic mode/Advanced mode
This is a zone settings parameter. By default, a thermostat has an Advanced functionality which allows the user to access all the parameters available. If the Basic settings are chosen, the user will only will have access to:

- Zone ON/OFF.

The thermostat does not measure the temperature well
The thermostat does not measure the temperature well
Check whether your thermostat meets all the location requirements recommended by Airzone:
1. There is no direct sunlight on the thermostat.
2. The thermostat is located away from draughty areas.
3. The thermostat is not placed above a heat source.
4. The thermostat is placed on the wall at the proper height.

If all these requirements are met and a temperature deviation is still detected on the thermostat, it can be adjusted from the Settings menu. Airzone system thermostats are equipped with an Offset parameter which allows the room temperature to be adjusted. Access your thermostat's Advanced settings parameters and adjust the Offset parameter to your needs.

For further information on this parameter, see the section entitled Zone Advanced Settings in the installation manual ( Easyzone main controller - Flexa 3.0 - Installation manual ).

My thermostat displays Error 5
My thermostat displays Error 5
A thermostat displaying Error 5 indicates it does not have a temperature sensor or is in an open circuit. The zone therefore loses the room temperature measurement. This leads to the zone being disabled for generating demand.

To confirm that it is not a part error, it should first be checked that no zones have been cross-labeled or incorrectly set. To do so, it is advisable to follow the procedure below:

Restart the zone and reassociate it to the system ( How can I reset a zone equipped with a Lite thermostat? ).

If the problem is not solved, restart the entire system and reassociate it ( How do I reset the entire system? ).

If the thermostat still displays Error 5 after these steps, the thermostat is faulty and should be replaced. Get in touch with the Airzone Technical Department ( Open a new ticket ).
My thermostat displays Error 11
My thermostat displays Error 11
Error 11 warns about a communications failure between the Airzone AC unit gateway and the indoor unit. The system loses communication with the AC unit and will therefore open all its zones and disable control from the system's thermostats, thus allowing the AC unit to operate from the manufacturer's thermostat.

First check that the air conditioning unit has power. Check that the AC unit's thermostat is switched on. If not, switch on the air conditioning unit and the error will disappear after about a minute.

If the problem persists, check whether the AC unit operates properly independently of the system. To do so, disconnect the AC unit from the Airzone system and activate the unit from the AC unit's thermostat. If the AC unit does not operate independently of the Airzone system, get in touch with its manufacturer.

If the AC unit operates properly, continue with the checks to be found at: ( My thermostat displays Error 9 ).
Why does STOP appear on my thermostat's screen?

The STOP mode shuts down the entire the Airzone system. If you need further information about Airzone operating modes, see the following link: ( Airzone operating modes ).
The master thermostat is switched off and the system does not shut down
The master thermostat is switched off and the system does not shut down
The master thermostat controls the installation's operating mode. If you have any doubts about Airzone's operating modes, see: ( Airzone operating modes ).

Besides the system's mode, the master thermostat controls your zone's air conditioning. Demand/no demand of the zone is controlled by switching the thermostat on/off, but not of the entire system.

If wish to switch off the entire system, you can do so through: Remote zones->All the zones->Off (consult the user manual) or through the STOP mode.
My thermostat displays Error 8 (I have wireless Lite thermostat)
My thermostat displays Error 8 (I have wireless Lite thermostat)
Error 8 indicates that a thermostat has lost communications with the system. The zone loses the room temperature measurement of an associated Lite thermostat, leaving the zone disabled to generate demand. Check from your Blueface thermostat whether the Lite thermostat has lost communications.

If your installation is equipped with wired Lite thermostats see: ( My thermostat displays Error 8 (I have wired Lite thermostat) ).

If your installation is equipped with wireless Lite thermostats, follow the instructions below:

Check the battery's status and, if in doubt, replace it with a new battery ( My thermostat displays Error 8 (I have wireless Lite thermostat) ).

Check whether the Lite thermostat in question has the microswitch that corresponds to the associated zone selected. If not, activate it by pulling up the tab to the desired value. Remember that, in order to associate wireless devices, you should first open the wireless association module either through the SW1 button on the main control board or from any thermostat in the Wireless module parameter of the System advanced settings, zone parameters.

Remember: Should it be necessary to change the zone number, first reset the thermostat and initiate the association sequence ( How can I reset a zone equipped with a Lite thermostat? ).

In order the change the Airzone system's operating mode, you must access the installation's master thermostat and press the icon located on the top left-hand corner.

You can consult the behavior of each mode at the following link ( Airzone operating modes ).

If you press on the icon but nothing happens (no selection menu opens), check whether the thermostat is set up as the master thermostat or whether the installation's master thermostat is in another zone. For further information on the installation's master thermostat, see the following link: ( Which is my installation's master thermostat? ).

If you are sure that the thermostat you are trying to access is the master thermostat, check whether it has been set up in Basic mode. You can check this at the following link: ( Basic mode/Advanced mode ).
The dampers do not open, the system always displays STOP
The dampers do not open, the system always displays STOP
First check whether the thermostat allows you to access the change mode screen. If not, locate the installation's master thermostat ( Which is my installation's master thermostat? ).

If you are indeed accessing from the master thermostat and the problem is that it selects a mode other than STOP and the system automatically reverts back to STOP, the problem could be in the main control board. Check whether there is a bridge at connector J14 (ALAR) in the main control board and that it is actually being short-circuited (check with a multimeter). If is not, short circuit the two poles of connector J14.

There is a deviation in my thermostat's humidity measurement
There is a deviation in my thermostat's humidity measurement
The relative humidity measured by the thermostat is highly related to the surrounding conditions. The thermostat's location might be causing a deviation in the room temperature measurement and this in turn leads to a deviation in the humidity measurement.

Check the thermostat's room temperature measurement, using a properly calibrated thermometer to do so. If the measurement is incorrect, see the following link ( The thermostat is at a distance from the room's habitable zone and the temperature difference between both zones generates discomfort ).

If the humidity measurement continues to be wrong, check whether your thermostat is properly installed. See: ( The thermostat does not measure the humidity well ).

Power does not reach a wired thermostat
Power does not reach a wired thermostat
If your thermostat is not switched on after connecting it to the system, first check the thermostat's connection (image 1). Ensure that the wires are making good contact and are not loose. To do so, tug on them gently and ensure they are not released.

If the thermostat's connection is satisfactory, check that the bus's connection to the main control board is also correct (image 2). Check the polarity and that the wires are making good contact with the terminal connection.

If the connections are correct, check whether 12 Vdc power reaches the thermostat. To do so, check that there is 12 Vdc at both connections between the red wire (+) and the black wire (-).

If no power reaches the thermostat, check whether it leaves the main control board. To do so, disconnect the main control board's bus connection terminal (image 2) and check whether there is voltage between the + and - connection terminals. If there are 12 Vdc, the problem resides in one of the terminal connections. If there is no voltage, the main control board has a power feed fault and you will have to get in touch with the Technical Support Department ( Open a new ticket ).
