The Q-Adapt parameter allows you to select the airflow control algorithm that best suits your duct installation. The options available are:
- Maximum: The system operates at maximum speed regardless of the number of zones.
- Power: The system operates at a higher speed than Standard to ensure airflow is increased.
- Standard: Default setting. The system changes speed depending on the number of zones.
- Silence: The system operates at a lower speed than Standard to ensure airflow is reduced.
- Minimum: The system operates at minimum speed regardless of the number of zones.

The Q-Adapt parameter can be changed from the User settings menu on a master Blueface thermostat (see image 1).

The Airzone system automatically controls the AC unit's airflow based on the number of zones in demand. It is not possible to manually control the AC unit's speed, since Airzone manages it intelligently.

If the airflow causes discomfort, it can be adjusted through the Q-Adapt parameter ( How do I set Q-Adapt?  ).

This error indicates an air conditioning unit anomaly. Consult the type of incident on the AC unit's thermostat and perform the repair actions indicated by the manufacturer.

If airflow is excessive in all zones despite having all the dampers open, proceed as follows.
Check the AC unit's speed controls. To do so:
1. Open all the dampers in the Airzone system, generating demand in all the zones.
2. Disconnect the Flexa 3.0 main control board's communication gateway with the air conditioning unit. Thus, the AC unit's controller will allow changes to be made to the speeds. After a minute, the Airzone thermostats will display Error 9.
3. Check that the speeds change properly using the AC unit's controller.

If you cannot change the AC unit's speeds, there is a problem in the AC unit's speed controls. Consult the manufacturer about the problem.

If you can control the speeds, lower the speed until an airflow is attained in all zones which is not excessive.

If the airflow continues to be excessively high even at the lowest speed, contact our Technical Department (  Open a new ticket  ).

If a suitable airflow is achieved by lowering the speed, reconnect the AC unit gateway and set the Q-Adapt parameter to the desired airflow rate ( How do I set Q-Adapt?  ).

You should also check that the gateway's speed settings are correct ( How do I control the AC unit's speeds?  ).

Most Airzone AC unit gateways automatically set the number of speeds available for an AC unit. It is, however, necessary to make an adjustment for some manufacturers.

Hitachi RAD:
- 4-Speeds: Microswitch 3 down.
- 3-Speeds: Microswitch 3 up.

Mitsubishi Electric:
- 3-Speeds: Microswitch 3 down.
- 2-Speeds: Microswitch 3 up.

If the AC unit does not start up when an Airzone system zone is switched on, run the following checks:

Check that the Airzone system is set to an operating mode other than Stop and that the set-point temperatures generate demand. If you have any doubts about the behavior of the operating modes see ( Airzone operating modes  ).

If the operating mode is properly selected, check that the Airzone system generates demand correctly. To do so, check that the relevant damper opens when demand is generated in one of the zones and LED D6 on the Flexa main control board associated to the AC unit's On/Off relay is lit up (green).

If the On/Off relay is on, the system's demands are operating properly and the problem must be in the system's communications with the AC unit. Error 9 warns of a communications failure between the gateway and the Airzone system. The system loses communication with the gateway and therefore with the AC unit. The system will open all its zones and disable control from the system's thermostats, thus allowing the AC unit to operate from the manufacturer's thermostat. To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

Check that the gateway is properly connected to the main control board's air conditioning unit port. You can consult the AC unit gateway's technical fact sheet (  Daikin comunication gateway - Product Data Sheet  ).

If the wiring is correct, check that the status of the connected gateway's LEDs is correct. To do so, also make use of your gateway's technical fact sheet.

If the LEDs' status is correct, measure the voltages in the AC unit bus. To do so, follow the instructions at: ( What are the correct voltages in the AC unit bus?  ).

If the voltages are correct, check whether the system detects the AC unit gateway. To do so, go to the system information menu and check what devices are in the system:

Yes. The Airzone system controls how the AC unit operates, but the manufacturer's controller should be maintained. You will be able to set the AC unit's settings and make adjustments through the manufacturer's controller, which are different for each brand.

You can install the AC unit's controller anywhere. It is not necessary to have it in sight. If you so wish, it can be hidden in a false ceiling.

If the dampers operate properly and LED D6 on the main control board turns on and off when zones are switched on and off, but the AC unit does not start up, proceed as follows:

Check that the AC unit's controller is connected to the Airzone communication gateway or to the air conditioning unit depending on the gateway model connected (  Daikin comunication gateway - Product Data Sheet  ).

If the connection is correct according to your gateway's technical fact sheet, check whether the AC unit is operating properly. To do so, disconnect the system's communication gateway and check the AC unit using the manufacturer's thermostat.

If the AC unit does not operate when it is disconnected from the Airzone system, consult the AC unit's manufacturer.

If the AC unit starts up and shuts down when it is controlled from its own controller, reconnect the gateway to the AC unit's controls. Then check whether the system has detected the gateway. To do so, access the master thermostat's Information menu and check to see whether a gateway appears in the Devices menu.

If an AC unit gateway appears, the system is properly detecting the gateway and hence communications with the system are satisfactory. If, despite this, the AC unit still does not start up, check the wiring from the gateway to the AC unit.

Check your unit's compatibility with the Airzone AC unit gateway: ( Is my AC unit compatible with the Airzone system?  ).

Check the self-diagnostic LEDs on your communication gateway with the AC unit (  Daikin comunication gateway - Product Data Sheet  ).

It is first necessary to check your unit's compatibility with the Airzone system. To do so, click on the following link: (  Compatibility checker  ).

If your AC unit is included in the list of compatible units, it can be controlled by the Airzone system. The right gateway must be used for this. Each gateway has its own technical fact sheet which explains the connection and how it operates (  Daikin comunication gateway - Product Data Sheet  ).

Check that the gateway's LEDs light up as indicated in the technical fact sheet.

The Airzone system intelligently manages each zone's temperature and takes advantage of the HVAC unit's inverter to attain better performance. That is why the temperature selected on the Airzone thermostats and the temperatures sent to the AC unit do not have to coincide.
