When a Lite thermostat blinks red, it means there is an error. It can be one of several errors depending on the number of times it blinks:

- 1 blink: The zone you are trying to associate already has a Lite thermostat associated to it (A Lite thermostat blinks red when I try to associate it).
- 2 blinks: The wireless association channel is not open or the Lite thermostat is too far from the main control board. (A Lite thermostat blinks red twice when I try to associate it).
- 5 blinks: Communications error between the thermostat and the system's main control board (The wired Lite thermostat blinks red (it does not operate) or The wireless Lite thermostat blinks red (it does not operate)).
